Next one ;)

Here is the layout for yesterday's lesson....I haven't been good at doing the journaling for 15 minutes a day as life has been really busy. My mother in law ended up in the hospital and I was home for all of an hour yesterday.....then today someone picked up their puppy so after being in town for a bit I had to get the pup ready to go to it's forever home. So tonight was the night to get caught up on this layout...I still have my camera class to catch up on and having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to figure out the shutter speed so that I can post my pictures....oh well..maybe that will be tomorrows project of the day.

Audience of one

Here is my third layout for the class I am taking....learning such wonderful things in it......

Two very new cool things.

At least they were both new to me. The first one is Wordle which is a site for making your words into word art. It is so smooth and slick that it takes only some text and voila you have word art. I learned this little trick from Jessica at the Type-Writer course..maybe I shouldn't share it but I thot it was too cool to not ;) Specially when Noel reads this and hasn't heard about it yet :)

The words in this are used from this blog post, copied and pasted in Wordle.

The second very cool thing that I found from one of the Pickleberry Pop site was this Palette Generator from Big Huge Labs. It takes a picture that you want in your layout and gives you a color palette to work with...now for those who are color challenged like I am it gives hope to the weary of making your layout blend nicely with the colors.

There is also Kuler who puts out color palettes for you to chose from but this is different...so have fun experimenting with these fun new things that I found. I did :)

Once Upon A Time

One of my favorite things to do is to snuggle in my bed with a good book. I read a lot! Usually Christian Romance books...ones that aren't too sappy but get a message across and make me think of my Creator in a new, different, or renewed light. My favorite author at this point is Michael Phillips whom I have read almost everything he has written and probably have all of those books on my shelves that I reread time and time again. They never seem to get too old or boring for me. Geez...lots of times I even forget a major portion of the book and find myself wondering if that could have been there the first time I read the book :)
At a friends recommendation, I got a new book to read. Totally not my normal type of book but hearing that it was very good I went ahead and purchased the book. All I can say is "WOW!!!" If you are looking for a great book to read this just be your ticket. It isn't long but it is a good read.
This book is a work of fiction (or possibly based on a true story). Without giving any of it away, it takes God out of the box that we so often want to stuff Him into and tape with the strongest duct tape that we can find. It is an excellent book on forgiveness and finding the path back to life after a major bump in the road. It is one man's journey told in a way that brings out all of the emotions. The book will make you laugh, cry, get angry but most of all it will make you think of God in a whole new way.
I have heard that the book is controversial. I didn't find that at all...but then I have spent a good many years cutting away the duct tape on my small box that I have tried to fit God into.
So if you are up for a good read then I heartily recommend this book :

At it again

I am taking another class from Jessica Sprague and Liv Esteban...It is a Journaling and Typography class...this is day 1 and day 2 of the assignments....don't tell Liv but I am having a hard time keeping up with the journaling part of the project....but each day she gives an assignment I do manage to finish it but am having trouble doing it for 15 minutes a day...guess I don't have that much to say :)

this one below was really fun...not that it was about me...yuck...but the typography that we got to do and learn was really fun

OK...so the mistakes in the first layout have been corrected...thank you Jeanne and Suzanne for pointing them out to me :)

Projects :)

Noel and I went Antique shopping and she made me spend lots of money :) When I got home my DH put all the things I bought up for me...now that is speedy...maybe he was trying to earn Brownie points..which I think he did

First thing I got was this cool picture display thing...it has these clips on it and you can put pics on it....so now my frig is empty of pictures and they are on this and I can easily change them when I get new ones

Then I got this sign....and Noel said I should get one for Danica who has a child with autism and has trials that a lot of us would never even think of handling........but instead of picking up another of the same some how I grabbed a different one....

My husband wants me to keep this one too :)

Another thing I got was these brackets to hang these thick, old looking shelves. They were actually flower boxes at the house we are at and we took them out when we redid the yard but I wanted to keep the wood to use......they are cool looking and go on either side of an antique cupboard.

Last but not least is this scroll thingy to hang above this picture... cool huh?

Smiles

Some of you might wonder why I have so many dogs in my life...other than the fact that I breed dogs.....I love the shenanigans that they do almost every day. Here Riley is playing with the puppy...from the first picture where he is almost in a stalking position to the run around pictures. Now you get to smile too :)

Play time :)

These puppies are really young to want to go outside and play but they whine till I let them out of their pen and let them roam the deck. And then they go and explore their world of the deck and the other dogs.

The dogs get into playing with the puppies...or should I say letting the puppies bother them.

There is always time to bite on your sister too...till she squeals cuz it is too hard.

Car Wash

Today there was a car wash sponsored by the local Starbucks and Stanwood Firefighters. What a turnout and the response from the community was GREAT!!!!! Starbucks donated $$ for everyone who worked and then the monies collected went to Aaron's dog. So the goal for his dog is almost met. He actually picked up the sponge and washed a car :) And Bond was there...his hopefully soon to be dog who will be starting specialized training in October for Aaron's needs.

This kit I got over at Plain Digital Wrapper in support of a nephew of one of the designers who also has autism. The kit was $5.oo and loaded with stuff. So if you are feeling the need to buy something hop on over and pick up the kit and support autism research.
