going green

Like all of us I don't get enough veggies into my body in any 24/48/72/96... period of time...I would much rather grab something sweet and very refined for my taste buds to be totally in ecstasy...however that isn't good and it has taken its toll on my body in the form of lots of me :) altho I am healthy I still have too much of me to love...not that I am not totally loveable..but!
Well today I decided I was going to try a green smoothie. I had already bought the spinach to put into it and promptly put it in the crisper and forgot about it.......but today was the day to drag it out and get my Vita Mix out and make a green smoothie....well that sounds really funny cuz it really wasn't even that green when it was done....
In went a frozen banana, some blueberries, a bit of greek yogurt, spinach and a touch of coconut oil.....totally healthy :) Switch on the blender and wait a few seconds while everything stirred, mixed and pureed....then voila...poured into a glass to try.

My smoothie was totally unable to go through a straw so I ate it with a spoon instead....hum...maybe I should make some green ice cream with my blender and see...
Anyway...you can see bits of blueberry in there and a touch of greeness...but...I have gotten 2 servings of fruit and one of veggies....and it isn't even noon yet :) and that is not counting the avocado I had with my egg either...wow....look at me go :)

Leavenworth...the town.........

Today we went for a ride up to see some friends who live just past Leavenworth (A Bavarian town for those of you confused :) We stopped at one of the big fruit stands to see what they had that was irresistible...and that was a lot of fruit...who would ever guess that there are that many varieties of peaches and nectarines and plums........whew! Last time I had gone up there and gotten fruit I sampled a couple of each of the different kinds of nectarines they had...and ya know what??? They all tasted like nectarines...surprised?
Anyway the place we stopped is called Smallwood Harvest...

How come my petunias do not grow like this?????

Ok...so here is another I spy picture...there is something in this picture that doesn't belong...or seems like it doesn't belong...

Ok...here is a closer view...see it yet?

HA! This cat was asleep in the bin....he was so relaxed then petting him didn't even stir him very much..and yes that is a real, alive cat in a food bin

ok..so for another view of the luscious fruit they had

I ended up with a box of peaches and a box of nectarines...gonna be eatin a lot of fruit here :)

Morning surprises

Sometimes life is way to busy and we set our eyes 'inside' on the things we need to do that day and the places we need to go. Doing this we miss the little surprises that come past us in sometimes hyper-speed...
I was outside with the dogs while making them do their business...so I figured I would prune just a bit off the geraniums (I love the flowers but am not a fan of the way they smell at all!!!) So clipped a few of the dead flowers off and came across a cute little friend in the planter
Can you see it???

there is a closer picture...he was just sitting there enjoying the sun after a few days of rain and cold....and if you didn't notice the date on this post it is August!!!! And yep, I said COLD!!!!

here is a close up...I love the way these guys seem to change color...now maybe that is cuz there are different frogs around but to me they are 'changeable charlies'....now who reading this is old enough to remember changeable charlie?????

Crazy? I was crazy once

Some people who know me think I am crazy...totally mentally unfit...seriously deranged. I so agree...I am totally crazily in love with my dogs....and I keep getting new ones to boot :) What kind of sicko person does that?
This is Rori Dee...she just got her middle name today so am trying it out. She actually was kinda still for some pictures so out came the camera and a short photo shoot ensued. She is quite photogenic if you can get her to sit still for a couple of seconds :)

now tell me...isn't that a face that you could only love????

and then in my defense......I do retire my dogs when they are done breeding and see that they get totally great homes where they are loved on and pampered....guess I am perpetually going to be potty training puppies :)

Saying goodbye

Sometimes doing what I do gets hard to do the right thing...such is the case with my sweet Mindy Sue.
She has always been on the shyer side of the spectrum but usually not a problem when I send them home to their new owners and tell them to make sure and get the pup out and socialized with people and other animals...so I didn't really heed my own advice when I kept Mindy...I really should have gotten her out but she got car sick so I never wanted to stress her more...well on the advice of my vet and a good breeder friend I decided that maybe Mindy needed to go to some place less stressful for her....but in the mean time I started taking her out and meeting people and having people give her treats when they came to the house. A family contacted me about an older pup and I told them about Mindy and when they came to meet her Mindy went up to them and let each of them touch her...and she took treats from them. Even their little boy could pick her up....so after much hard thot and some hard times of vacillating between letting her go and keeping her I told the people they could have her....one of the hardest decisions that I have come up against lately with my dogs..usually I breed and have an ok time letting my older dogs go when their time here is done..........my motto is I can't add without subtracting so I use my last grooming time as a time to say goodbye to them and let them go to the good home that I have found....
So today was Mindy's last bath with me and my time to say goodbye...and it was a very sad time for me....I know she will be a happy girl with this family but I will miss her sweet face and happy disposition when at 'home'.
So I took a few pics of her and her friends before she goes to her new home..

will miss her curious side

with Cassidy one of her favorite playmates

Mindy and mama, Bailey. Mindy is a pure third generation cockapoo....no mixing of generations with her :(

Mindy with Lucy her other favorite playmate

Goodbye sweet girl...I will miss you!!!!

Newest addition

Today I went and got my newest addition to the clan :) Her name is Rory and she is chocolate/red...probably better known as a chocolate and tan but her tan is really a deep red color....spectacular coloring to say the least :)
She is a sweet thing...after being in the plane for a LONG time she took a bit to warm up but she did a great job...I didn't push her too fast but let her come to me....thot she would want out of that crate after being in it for a while but she felt better just coming to the front of it and letting me pet her while I drove the traffic home...
Pictures don't do her justice and of course it is hard to shoot a moving target :)

Cody is a chocolate and tan and you can see how much his legs are more tan than Rory's

Dave getting some loves in

Cassidy getting in a few Z's

Rory on the move...and that is almost all she did when I had the camera out and trying to get ONE good picture of her

you can see the darkness of her "tan" coloring...it really is quite red

Mindy...such a sweetie!

Bailey relaxing in the grass

this is the view I got most today while trying to snap a few...the bottom view :)

or the flying view

can't wait to see how this girl grows up :)
