Time to move on

Christmas is over and now it is time to move on to the new year. I can't believe it is almost 2009. Where did the time go? My kids are grown with kids of their own (well half of them have kids of their own) My grandkids are getting to be mini-adults and still time rushes on. How fast and fleeting are the days...grownups wanting to be children again and children wanting to rush into adulthood. Ah..the precious present to appreciate....living in the here and now and not wanting things to be different than what they are. Ha...easy to say very hard to live that way. Soon it will be time to change my word of the year. It was relax and I think the new year needs something different....I still have a few days to think of what that might be.

Till then here are a couple of picture from Christmas...

Stan and Noel made this picture for me...now I have to find a cool place to hang it in the house...I have a chocolate wall that it would look great on but that means moving the pastel pictures of my kids when they were young...hum....

And this greeted me when I walked into Noel's house on Christmas. There is a story behind this...this is not the original but a newly made copy. When Danica was in 5th grade she made a corn husk doll. One day she got very mad at me and hung it from the balconey of the house we lived in. That one only said "MOM" on it....I so wish I had saved that little corn husk doll with it's nametag...I would have liked to give it to Madison, Danica's daughter, who is just like her. Maybe someday this one will show up at Danica's house hanging from something...as they don't have a balconey to hang it appropriately from :)
Merry Christmas all...Happy new year

More snow and a new puppy :)

We are getting snow once again here...whoopee.....of course I don't have to drive in it so it isn't bad for me :) And I picked up another male pup today...he is cute but will have him checked out by my vet come Tuesday when he is in before the holidays

Still snowing :)

It is day 5 and it is still snowing...we have lived in the Northwest for over 16 years now and have never had so much snow last so long in all that time. We have about 10-12"...the top layer being powder and the bottom layer pure ice. Needless to say I am staying put getting things done at the house that need to get done here. One of those things was to post more pics of snow dogs....

Bailey

Annie

Most of the gang...

Keeping watch over their flocks???

So many times you see these really cute pictures of people taking pictures of peoples backs..well I thot this was a cute one of my "furkids" sitting on the deck watching the others play

Ok...had to add these too

Ok...had to put these up too.

Bailey picking off snowballs on her fur

Now for the funny ones :) I am old enough to know better :) But it was a fun trip down the mountain until I saw I was going to run into Emma who decided she needed to go down with me. The need to protect her from me made me try and get out of her way...well the blue saucer is what she was riding on and the boogie board type of thing in the air is...or should I say was mine....the shadow of the body is me rolling down the hill the rest of the way :)

Notice the impacted snow-brows :) Frosty had some competition there for a bit :)

Wow it has been too long....

For those of you who get snow often this isn't a treat for you....but for those of us in the Western Northwest it is a treat to get the rare snowfalls and to have the pleasure of watching the dogs play in it....they were like little kids running non-stop through the freshly fallen snow. So being the thotful person that I am before I even got them out of bed I got my camera out and started snapping almost the minute their feet hit the snow. Wish you could see some of the action that they were doing but it was hard to catch it all...got a couple of good action shots of them running through the snow...but most of all I was just enjoying them playing in it.

Annie's first snow. Although she loved it she kept sitting in it to bite off the snowballs that would get on her feet.

Lexie's ears are flying as she runs in the snow around Hattie

Here is a snow picture and the "kids" running around the yard

Bailey was just too cute in this picture not to put it up

No..those aren't cotton balls on Riley's feet but tiny snowballs attached to his fur....actually had to rinse them off as the hairdryer wasn't melting them...even the heavy duty one I have to dry the dogs when I give them a bath...........

Well that is all the pictures that this will let me post so maybe will put more up later :) Or the one of me biffing it on the sled........... :)
